Bukhtiyarov I. V. is a prominent scientist in the field of labor medicine, military, environmental, aviation, space and marine medicine. He successfully develops problems of scientific substantiation of strategy of development of medicine of work. Actively develops and introduces into medical practice of innovative medical technologies (genomic, proteome, bioinformatic) for diagnosis, treatment, rehabilitation, prevention and personalized justification of the prognostic criteria of risk of development of occupational diseases. Effectively solves the issues of improvement of medical care of employees, preservation of professional health. Currently, within the framework of the Federal target program "National system of chemical and biological safety", he is the head of the Russian side of the joint research project with the international Agency for research on cancer (IARC) (2013-2018) – "Large-scale historical cohort study assessing the risk of death from respiratory cancer among workers engaged in mining and enrichment of chrysotile asbestos".
Bukhtiarov I. V. is actively engaged in teaching, being head of the Department of occupational medicine, aerospace and diving medicine, faculty of preventive medicine of the Federal State Autonomous Educational Institution of Higher Education I.M. Sechenov First Moscow State Medical University of the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation (Sechenov University) . He has extensive experience in international scientific cooperation and is a member of the International Commission on occupational medicine (ICOH).
